My story

Finley is a cute 1-1/2 year old male Pit Bull Terrier mix who arrived at the HSOV on March 10, 2022 after he jumped into someone's car at the Speedway Gas Station on Farson Street/State Route 7 in Belpre Ohio (and she drove him to our shelter in hopes that we could locate his owner).

Finley has a tan-and-white short smooth coat with a subtle brindle pattern, a long tail, and an adorable face with a rather mischievous grin, a liver-colored nose, and large semi-erect ears. Finley's right eye is pale brown and his left eye is pale blue/brown, which gives him a very unique appearance.

We wrote on Finley's description back in March 2022 that " he was full of playful energy and seemed like a super-sized overgrown puppy ... and that if Finley were in grade school, he would most definitely be the 'class clown' and prankster."

We discovered that Finley's description was still 'right on the money' and accurate when (much to Finley's delight), HSOV Kennel Tech Hayley Sturm agreed to accompany Finley for updated early Fourth of July holiday publicity photos on June 17, 2022. [And we admit that we were required to photoshop a party hat on Finley's cute little head since there was no way this fun-loving boy was ever going to keep a real hat on his head]

Haley let Finley play to his heart's content and gave him the attention he was commanding from her .. and obeyed his wishes to become a lap dog. We have a feeling that Hayley was able to skip the gym that night since Finley helped fulfill Hayley's cardio exercises requirement for the day.

Finley weighs approximately 80 lbs. He is extremely strong on a leash and doesn't realize his own strength.

Finley has already been neutered.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Finley was held for three days so that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. Sadly nobody called or came looking for this young man.

Finley will be neutered in the near future and will be looking for a home with a family or an individual who enjoys an active lifestyle and could give Finley the physical exercise that he loves.
