My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Petra and I am a Chihuahua and Dachshund mix, 8 lbs, 2 years old, and I was saved from a backyard shed filled with many dogs living a miserable life. This is South Texas where it is extremely hot in the summer and freezing cold in the winter and none of us receive proper care. My owner has been releasing small groups of us to 4 Little Paws and a few other rescues and finally, a few months ago I was released because I was pregnant. Fast forward to today, I have been living in a wonderful foster home where I have a single adorable puppy. I was an excellent mother and Casper is currently ready to find his own forever home, so now it’s my turn. I am a shy girl, still very nervous about new people and new places. I will need a patient family who will let me blossom, but in the meantime, as I work on warming up, I am gentle and kind. I get along with other dogs but they don't interest me. I love puppies! I play with Casper and the other puppies in my foster home and it makes me happy. I like to follow my foster mom around the house while she works because she always has treats in her pocket. I LOVE doggy treats! I was unfamiliar with a leash and my backyard doesn't have a fence so I have been potty trained to use a potty pad to conduct my business. I think the best thing for me is to find a forever family where I can adjust to life with them, fall in love, and live happily ever after. I am moving to Connecticut in a couple of weeks so if you live anywhere nearby and would love to help a little girl blossom, please consider me. I am a sweet girl and very deserving.
