My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Captain my Captain, what a good boy! We are so excited to introduce you to this handsome stud of a boy that has been described as an “angel” by his foster mom, despite his past. His beautiful eyes will tell you exactly what he’s thinking, and you can see when looking at them that he is an old soul. He was a daddy dog that was caught with a group of puppies wandering the streets of Birmingham, but once he was caught he never looked back!

We doubt that he ever had a gentle hand in his past life, so he was very timid and unsure of this new world at first, but it did not take long for him to find the comfort of human furniture and pets and snuggles the best feeling in the world. He has become the most loyal companion to his foster family, but they know it’s only fair to find his permanent home so that he can start making new memories with his forever family.

Even though Captain loves to play with his four-legged friends, he would be happiest riding around with his humans every day or curled up with them in bed or on the couch. He would also enjoy bonding time with walks and outdoor activities. We do believe he was most likely mistreated by children in his past on the streets, but since living with them and having lots of loud two legged visitors, he has become much more comfortable around them. Captain is great with creatures of all sizes: dogs, puppies, cats, chickens, you name it!

He is full of so many wonderful traits, but Captain does not like to be crated or left alone. He has been known to break out of a kennel! So he is looking for a family that is looking for a shotgun rider to spend their days with, and that will only leave him alone for short periods. Captain is full of love and loyalty, and can’t wait to meet the family that will be his very own.
