My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi. My name is Scout. I am 19 weeks old and my vet (the lady with the treats) says I am in great health. I was 16.8 lbs at 16 weeks, which I guess means I will eventually be 32 lbs or so when I am full grown. I am housetrained, sleep through the night (10:00 to 6:00), and, I am told, a wonderful dog who likes to snuggle and play, and is very smart.

My Dad was 100% Treeing Walker Coonhound and my Mom was a mix of Border Collie, Golden Retriever, Chow Chow, and Siberian Husky (according to a DNA test my Humans got after they adopted me). When my Humans rescued me, they understood I was a “retriever mix.” My Humans really had no idea what they were in for with an energetic scent-driven gal like me.

We go for walks and have play time and I get to sit outside and relax but I would love a fenced in backyard where I can freely romp and explore. I am very social and good with all the dogs and people I meet. My sister, a Shiba Inu, is 16 years old and is not interested in playing or roughhousing with me. So, I would love to have a new dog sister or brother to play with.

(Note from Humans – She is a wonderful dog, we were just not prepared for the energy and habits of a Coonhound. We want her to have a home with people who understand scent animals, have a fenced in back yard and ideally with another dog to play with to make her life great!).
