My story

Hi, my name is Squidward! I am a male 4-month-old Doxie Mix that has a lot of energy once I get comfy with my surroundings. I just got here on Saturday, but I can’t wait to settle into a new home with a furrever family. I can be loving but I’m shy at first. I am not housetrained but I’m still a puppy so I can learn. I’m not wild about a crate, and can be very vocal, but I will sleep in it at night. My foster mom says I must have a fenced yard because I like to run. She takes me out with a leash, which I’m not wild about but I’m getting used to it lol. True to my puppy age, I do like to “investigate” everywhere and search for food. I also like to snuggle on the couch with my foster Dad. If you would like to meet this dog please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $250.

Adoption fee includes:
- microchip
- spay/neuter
- age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies
- heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive
- deworming

Why adoption is a great option

Squidward, a Aurora Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Aurora, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Aurora.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aurora already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aurora breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aurora paves the way for another one to be saved.
