My story

Kakuro (aka Tornado) is a sweet little girl! She has blossomed from a sweet kitten into a loveable, precious, adorable teenager! She has beautiful markings to go along with her beautiful personality. She loves to play with the laser, crinkle toys, and wand toys. When she is not playing, she wants to be in your lap for snuggles and pets! She is such a love bug and has a great purr. When she is in chill mode her tongue hangs out and it is so cute!! She loves Fancy Feast pate and any type of treat. She will come running if she hears the treats rattle! She gets along with her foster family’s cats and dog. She would do well with young kids too. She has been spayed and she’s ready to find her furever home!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We have an adoption application to learn a bit about the home our cats will be going to and the family's motivation for adoption and expectations about pet ownership. We also have an adoption contract, which includes a no declawing and indoor-only clause along with a vet promissory note that ensures you will continue with the medical care and spay/neuter if needed. We DO NOT do any out of state adoptions except on the NC border on a case-by-case basis. Our adoption fee for unfixed kittens is currently $120 and includes their FRCVP series, worming, mite, parasite, and flea treatment. Our new adopters will be responsible for obtaining their rabies and spay/neuter if not already done. We can provide resources for low cost clinics that offer these services. Career/barn cats have an adoption fee of $25. Spayed/neutered cats over 6 months are fully vetted (including rabies) with an adoption fee of $140. Bonded pairs are $200. Sometimes we require rental checks or home inspections. We always have a Meet n Greet to make sure everyone gets along. We encourage bringing the whole family!

Go meet their pets

Our pets are available for Meet and Greets at their various fosters homes or at our kittery at Pups n Stuff in Virginia Beach for fosters who do not show animals in their home. Appointments must be scheduled in advance! At Pups n Stuff (where we're the Stuff), you can make an appointment to come see some of our adoptable kittens. It is at 4330 Holland Rd. in Virginia Beach. Many of our adoptable adults are located at the Catnip Cat Cafe. The Cafe is in the Ghent section of Norfolk at 1611-B Colley Ave. We also have adoptable adults at Pembroke PetSmart, 4421 Virginia Beach Blvd in Virginia Beach.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to improve the lives of displaced cats and reduce feral cat population in Hampton Roads by socializing outdoor-born and feral kittens for adoption into loving forever homes. We are a VDACS registered 501c3 nonprofit, founded in 2014 with over 60 foster homes. Our heart is in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return of ferals), where cats are fixed, vaccinated, ear tipped, and allowed to live out their lives without reproducing. We are advocates for advancing legal and social acceptance of TNR in Hampton Roads. Our unique feral kitten socialization program has a 90% success rate in socializing feral-born kittens to become loving, in-home pets. We are always seeking fosters, volunteers, transporters, and trappers to join our team! We also appreciate donations! Find our most needed items here:
