My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mickey, and his brother Bear, were owner surrenders to the pound.  Their parents lost their home and were living in their car with the dogs when they turned the dogs into the shelter.  Mickey and Bear are amazing dogs.  They are very attached to each other and we would like to find them a home together.  If that is not an option though, they can be separated.  Mickey is incredibly sweet.  He loves to play outside, but he is pretty chill inside and just likes to lounge around.  He is good with other dogs and is house trained.  He is crate trained but does not need to be crated when you leave the house or at night.  He does get excited when you come home and he jumps up to greet you.  He pulls on the leash but rides well in the car. We believe the leash pulling could improve with training.  He would make a perfect companion for anyone that works at home.  He’s happy to sleep by your feet all day.  He’ll follow you around all day.  He loves attention and affection.  He is very  intuitive and sensitive.  He loves to be on the furniture and he sheds so regular brushing will be a must.  Mickey loves women. He is a little shy around men initially but warms up pretty quickly.  It takes him longer to warm up with very large men with deep voices.  The foster's boyfriend is a large man and he can put Mickey’s leash on and take him for a walk if she isn’t home, but he is still shy around him.  Mickey isn’t shy around the male neighbors or other male friends.  Mickey isn’t aggressive in any way, he doesn't growl or snap, he's just extremely shy and reserved with very large men. Might take a minute to be best friends, but it will happen
