My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Hannah Montana!

Hannah is a 4 year-old Pitbull mix that weighs in at about 44lbs! She can be shy at first and it may take some time to warm up, but when she does she is ready for love. Hannah would love to go outside on walks or sit by your side on the couch, she can also be sure to make you laugh with her goofy personality. Hannah does show potential to live in a home with another dog but would need a proper and slow introduction. Hannah unfortunately does not do well with her feline companions and should not live with them in her forever home. Due to her initial sensitivity if she were to live with children in her forever home they'd have to be 13 and up.

If Hannah Montana sounds like the best of both worlds to you give us a call at: 330-487-0333 ex.226

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
