HERSHEY is a 5 year old miniature poodle who was given up when his owners noticed he was bumping into things and were unable to provide the medical care he needed. He was evaluated by Dr. Bowersox at the Veterinary Center of DE and found to have Progressive Retinal Degeneration (PRA) and secondary cataract formation. Hershey will need eye drops and a visual health supplement going forward but is otherwise in good health.
In spite of it all, he has adjusted wonderfully to his foster home and is a happy and friendly little guy. He has no problems navigating once he gets the lay of the land and can go up and down the stairs on his own. Hershey lived with another small dog and is currently in a foster home with german shepherds and 3 young boys and is not at all fazed by a busy household.
Please fill out an application at www.companimals.org if you are interested in adding Hershey to your family. Hershey has an appointment to be neutered (will be available mid-March) and is vaccinated, heartworm tested & microchipped. Adoption $200.
