My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to one of the sweetest 3 year old girls you will ever meet. Abby came to the shelter as a lost girl on 06/24 and has a micro-chip but her family chose not to come for her when they were contacted. Abby appears to have been well cared for, her coat is beautiful and glossy and as soft as silk and she is a nice size at 63 pounds. The only thing the owners did not do was keep her safe at home and they did not give her a once a month pill to keep her for getting hear worms. Sadly she tested positive for heart worms but began treatment at the shelter on July 11. With treatment, she can live a long and happy life. Abby was taught to sit and lay down. She appears she could be house trained as she cries to go outside when she needs to potty. Abby is current on vaccines, spayed and micro-chipped. You will find Abby waiting in run 60 and her ID# is 637542.

Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, names are oftentimes made up by volunteers.

This pet and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Shelter hours are: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by appointment only until further notice, CLOSED Mondays & Holidays.
