My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Girly! Her estimated DOB is 07/12/2018 and she's a black Labrador Retriever. She's our fun-loving, wigglebutt girl with the biggest smile to offer! Girly loves all the attention that she can get from anyone. She is good with both dogs and cats after proper introductions, but once those are over, she gets along great! She is a very active girl and could use some training to help her learn that she doesn't need to jump! Due to this high, excitable energy we recommend a home with older children.
We also think that she would thrive in an active lifestyle, including walking, swimming, hiking, playing ball, tug of war, etc. she's down for anything!!
She is leash trained, easily corrected and very eager to please.
She might be a little nervous at first, and act tough from behind her fence at the Haven, but she warms up quickly and has so much love to give!! She truly craves a family of her own, and just wants someone to snuggle in bed with and give kisses to after a day of fun.

All of our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open form 9am-4pm, seven days a week. Go meet their pets

The sanctuary is open to the public. We encourage you to bring along any potential fur-siblings to help pick out your new pet as well. We also hold monthly offsite adoptions at Petsmart and Petco stores in Springfield Missouri, Fayetteville & Rogers Arkansas, and at Orscheln's Farm & Home in Republic, MO. Please find us on Facebook to see where we're going next! (Schedules vary)
We don't always get a chance to check our emails throughout the day, so the quickest way to reach us is by giving us a call at 417-835-3647. Come out and meet your new best friend!

More about this shelter

We are a no-kill sanctuary for stray and abandoned dogs and cats, and for those left homeless by the death of their guardian. We provide an environment as homelike as possible with lots of loving care to our furry residents. It may take days or years, but we will always keep trying for all of the animals in our care. Volunteers and donations are always needed and welcome!
