My story

GOOD LOOKS AND GREAT PERSONALITY-THAT'S OUR ZOEY!

Zoey is our 4.5 year old, female ShihTzu/Havanese mix that is about 10lbs. Zoey is a true character that will that will keep you amused for hours! She loves to bark talk and would be best in a home with a yard where she can play and sunbathe. Zoey would make a great companion dog, or be fine with another small (submissive) dog in the home. She loves getting attention and would do best with an owner who works from home or is home most of the day. She loves car rides and is good on leash. We rescued Zoey from a neglectful owner who never addressed her serious back condition. She was not able to use her back legs when we got her, so we immediately got her to a surgeon who performed life altering back surgery. Miraculously, Zoey is as good as new. She is fine to go on walks, we just don't recommend that she is taken on any long hikes. She needs a single level home with no stairs. Zoey is a happy girl with a zest for life and with all she has been through, we want to see her in the best forever home out there!

Zoey is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Zoey's adoption fee is $600

We only place dogs in the Greater Los Angeles areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required.

Why adoption is a great option

Zoey, a Santa Monica Shih Tzu/Havanese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Havanese for sale in Santa Monica, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Havanese dog from a breeder in Santa Monica.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Monica already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Monica breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Havanese breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Havanese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Monica paves the way for another one to be saved.
