My story

Meet Braxton! This sweet and handsome poodle mix is approximately 13-14 years old and weighs 11 lbs. He enjoys going on short walks and will run to the door when he knows you are taking him out for his morning and evening walks. He loves treats and gets excited at meal times and runs to wait while it’s being prepared. One of his favorite pastimes is napping. He is mostly potty trained, as long as he is taken out often. He is not a big barker and is a well behaved passenger in the car.
Braxton is good with other dogs, but if his home has dogs they should be older and calm. He is partially vision and hearing impaired, but he doesn’t let that stop him from disliking the sound of the vacuum cleaner! Braxton is on a supplement for arthritis and is on a very inexpensive thyroid medication. He also occasionally suffers from prolapsed penis. Due to his senior status, he should be adopted to an adult-only home. If Braxton sounds like the perfect addition to your family, apply today at lilrascalsrescue.org/adopt !

Why adoption is a great option

Braxton, a Sanford Toy Poodle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Toy Poodle for sale in Sanford, or seeking a Toy Poodle dog from a breeder in Sanford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sanford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sanford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Toy Poodle breeders who help with Toy Poodle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sanford paves the way for another one to be saved.
