My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pete is a handsome neutered male APBT mix with a sad story that is all too familiar to the breed.

Pete's owner to us with Pete in dire need of medical attention. He had been away for some time thought his family was taking care of his dog. When he came home, he found his dog alarmingly skinny and in need of medical attention. He came to us because he “heard the Humane Society helps animals.” It is very rare that we have space open, but luckily we had room to take in this dog, renamed Pete.

Pete was skin and bones and in need of some medical attention. A little TLC from the vet and the staff at HSEC and Pete looks like a different dog. In spite of the neglect he suffered from, Pete is one of the friendliest dogs we have. He is so happy to have some love and attention he fell asleep in the staff member's lap when he was being vaccinated.

We take special care in finding forever homes for bully breeds in general, but we will go the extra mile to be sure that Pete finds the forever home that will love and spoil him every day for the rest of his life.

We prefer to adopt bully breeds to owners with successful previous bully experience. There are no same day adopted for bully breeds as the adoption process for bully breeds involves a home check, vet check and possible reference check.

Pete is a loving fella who steals the heart of everyone he meets. Come meet him today!
