My story

Up for adoption in Texas: Rivers

This adorable four-and-a-half months old pup enjoys playing with toys, dogs, and cats, (when they allow it.) She weighs about 34 pounds. She likes kisses, snuggles, and loves to romp and play. Rivers is crate trained, house trained -- she rings a bell to let you know it's time to go out to potty). She is working on leash training. Rivers loves being outside and running in every direction. Her foster mom says Rivers is next to perfect.

She will go in her crate easily when they leave the house. She prefers to sleep with her foster family in bed. She will sleep all night without a peep and doesn't get up until you do! She is the sweetest girl. She loves to swim in her foster's pool. Rivers is not a fan of car rides at this juncture (gets car sick) her foster family is working on that.

She is vaccinated, microchipped and ready to find her forever home. Please apply at www.luckylabrescue.com

Why adoption is a great option

Rivers, a Austin Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium) for sale in Austin, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium) dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
