My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pokey was born around the middle of March 2022.

Pokey(brown/white tabby) came with her mate Gumby(black) both allegedly as strays at three weeks old and were immediately put into foster care.

Upon examination, the foster mom saw that the little kittens both had congenital defects, manifesting as what can best be described as “frozen back legs”. Over time, the kittens have compensated for their defect and are otherwise “normal”. They use the litter box, play like kittens should and do their best to run around. It’s awkward, but they manage. They are good climbers, with strong upper bodies. Their hind legs provide some stability, but no strength or “push”, meaning that these little guys will never jump on your kitchen counters.

Pokey is spayed, microchipped, FVRCP vaccinated, and has tested negative for FeLV and FIV. If you are interested in making Pokey a part of your family please follow the link below to complete an online adoption application.

Pokey and Gumby would do best being adopted together and into a home without young children or aggressive/overly playful cats or dogs. They simply don’t have the ability to defend themselves or run away. Otherwise, they will do well as they are highly social, playful and fearless.
