My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CURRENTLY IN A FOSTER HOME!- I'm in need of a loving forever home with a family experienced with special needs dogs!

Pippin is special needs, as he is deaf, partially blind, and has significant neurological issues. Pippin will need to be in a home with an experienced owner with no pets or children. He is a very special guy who needs a strict daily routine to keep from getting overstimulated. He loves walks, but likes to play tug-o-war and will require a chain or cable leash. He can interact with dogs smaller than him and cats, but dog the same size or larger are too intimidating and he does not like to share space with them. Pip will need to be a single gentleman, as his tendency to guard his resources would be challenging to have him around other animals in a long term environment. He just needs to have a special human who understands that Pippin can't communicate like every other dog and needs extra training to learn how! He is incredibly smart and loving, and just needs someone to give him a chance! More about this shelter

CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.

CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
