Take the Pet Home
This helps Loved At Last Dog Rescue with pet care costs.
Hi there! My name is BOOTS (Sugar) and here is some history info about me:
PHYSICAL INFO:
Whippet/Retriever mix
3 years
Female
25 kg
Highlights: Loves other dogs, shy around strangers, great off leash, calm and quiet in the house, very playful
RESCUE STORY:
My rescuer found me on the streets with the rest of the litter that I was a part of. Only half of us survived, and lucky for me I was one of them! I'm a very friendly dog, but I'm very shy around new people. Once I get to know you, I love attention!. I love other dogs, and I love to play and cuddle with my humans.
Currently in a foster home on Vancouver Island with 8 other dogs. I love living in a big pack. I play all day long with my doggie friends and love cuddling with my foster dad too. I take time to warm up to new people. I'm very shy around new people. But once I know you are a safe loving person I will always love you and constantly surprise you with my goofy loving ways. I've been waiting so long for my forever family are you them?
TEMPERAMENT:
ENERGY LEVEL:
Medium
GETS ALONG WITH:
Kids – NO
Dogs – YES
Cats – NO
PREY DRIVE:
CATS - will chase cats
I love to chase squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing handle these behaviours
TRAINING:
House trained – yes
Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems!
Basic training should be taken seriously and should begin within a day or two of arrival. After your dog has settled in, check out courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.
HEALTH NOTES:
I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.
ADOPTION FEE:
My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD + applicable taxes.

Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.
Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.
The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.
Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. More information can be found on our website.

As adopters of overseas dogs will be taking their dog home from the airport, they have a couple of weeks to decide if the dog is a fit.
