My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**must be adopted with Coby**

Hi, my name is Spence! Let me tell you a little about my life journey so far! One day a concerned citizen found me coming in and out of a sewer drain. They quickly saw that I needed help ASAP. I had a collar on me that got embedded around my underarm and chest, causing severe infection and a nasty open wound. This nice lady quickly called for help, reaching out to BTKR. The trap director jumped into action and pulled up to my location. I was found, and they tried to put me in a carrier. Because my prior owner probably dumped me, I did not trust humans at that time, so I broke out of the carrier and ran directly into the sewer drain. The trapper crawled in after me, but I kept going further in. After 15 hours of trying to get me, I was no longer seen by anyone, but they weren’t giving up so easily!

The next morning, a trap was set at the end of the drain. I finally got hungry, so I gave in and was trapped. I was quickly rushed to the emergency vet to get checked out, where they confirmed that I would not have made it outside much longer if I was not rescued - that is how severe my infection was! After getting my wound cleaned up and was put on antibiotics, the nice trap director took me home to foster me herself. It didn’t take me long to learn that being inside is awesome! I warmed up and immediately gave my thanks by making biscuits and giving all the kisses to my new foster parents! Now, after several follow-up vet appointments and weeks of healing, I am ready to find my furever home!

I am a very friendly, long-legged, handsome man! I enjoy wet and dry food and I’ll let you know when the bowl is empty. Do you like to chat? I am a sparkling conversationalist, and I will listen to you talk about your day and tell you all about mine. I am a great co-worker, and I will help you throughout your day by sitting in your lap, laying under your desk (if you work from home), and offering meows of encouragement. Did I say lap? That is my favorite place to be! I also enjoy looking out the window and playing! I like wand toys, balls, crinkle toys, mice, and anything you can throw for me to chase. I have also learned to come and stay (well, for the most part), so I must have been a dog in a previous life!
My foster moms have been amazing, but I am ready to be king in my own house. The humans don’t know how I am around other animals or kids, but I am sure I will do just fine with a proper introduction! Are you ready to give me a castle to call my own?
