My story

Luke Skyhopper is a one year old, neutered male Lop mix. He's pure white with beautiful blue eyes. He is playful and friendly and sometimes mischievous. Luke's favorite treat is banana. Luke likes to explore the backyard with supervision. Luke's owners are keeping him outside in a bunny hutch inside a larger pen, but he needs a safe indoor home because the Florida heat is just not safe for him. Will he be your new roommate?

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee for a single rabbit is $75, and $125 for a bonded pair. Interested potential adopters should download and complete the adoption application here: http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/adoption.doc and send it to us at: rabbit@bio.miami.edu We strongly recommend that any potential adopter of a rabbit visit the House Rabbit Society "Rabbits 101" web site before considering adoption, as rabbits have special needs and are not at all like dogs and cats.

Go meet their pets

Our "shelter" is a private home, so rabbit visits are by appointment only. Please email us at rabbit@bio.miami.edu to set up an appointment.

More about this rescue

H.A.R.E.'s mission is to educate the public about rabbits as indoor companion animals as worthy of long-term commitment as a dog or cat, and to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home abandoned, neglected domestic rabbits into forever homes. We also rescue and rehabilitate wild rabbit species (cottontails and hares), and release native species to the localities where they were rescued. Exotic wild lagomorph species are given permanent sanctuary in a natural setting at H.A.R.E.
