My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Merida is a sweet lady looking to snuggle her way into your heart and home with her gorgeous copper-gold coat and loving eyes! She loves to give hugs and with a gentle reminder she’s happy to sit at your feet and lean into your hug. Merida loves hanging outside in the fresh air so while a fenced yard would not be required for her, it would sure make her happy. She loves to do figure 8’s while her foster fur-sister tries to keep up. If you’ve got a rope toy, you will make her the happiest girl around—whether she’s throwing the rope around herself or playing a little game of tug with her foster fur-sister, she’s in her happy place! To our knowledge, she has not yet been around cats; she isn't fond of small kids or toddlers as we believe she had been taunted in the past. Older kids or teens she would do well with. Merida gets along great with the other three dogs in the house and has learned which ones are willing to play with her and which ones would rather just chill with her. She has been getting daily walks and is doing well on a leash. Merida has great house manners and is kennel-trained. Don’t let this one get away—she’s going to make someone a very loyal, loving companion!!

Merida is a Black Mouth Cur mix, weighs 45 lbs and was born approximately September of 2017. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & given heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $350 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
