My story

Meet Dixie! She is part of an adorable litter, which were born around April 26th. These pups are “Chesadors” which is a wonderful combination of Chesapeake Bay Retriever and Labrador.
Dixie might be the smallest one out of the Chesador litter but she has no problems keeping up with the big dogs! Dixie loves her chew toys and being right next to her foster mom’s side. This little girl is a cuddle bug and loves to give kisses. She gets along with other dogs, cats and children.
This baby was rescued by a Joshua Fund volunteer along with their Mama and siblings from horrific conditions. Dixie is now thriving and that is all now in the past.

Why adoption is a great option

Dixie, a Jay Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever for sale in Jay, or seeking a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Jay.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jay already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jay breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jay paves the way for another one to be saved.
