My story

***must be adopted with Romona***

Maesley and Romona are a bonded pair of dilute calico sisters who were found alone in a farm field with no momma around to take care of them. A kind person saw them and called BTKR for help. Maesley was rescued first, but Romona had other ideas! She played hide and seek for another week at the farm by herself until BTKR returned to rescue her and reunite her with Maesley. They are a bonded pair so they must be adopted together.

Both girls are very friendly, and they love living the indoor life! They seek out attention from their foster mom and show their love by purring all the way through their many pets and hugs! Maesley has the cute white highlighted nose and underside, while Romona has the beautiful lighter golden fur running through her gray fur. Maesley is the sister who plays softer, while Romona plays faster and stronger - because of this, the sisters would do best in a family with older children or in an adult-only home. They loved playing with the other foster kittens in their foster home, so they would also do well going to a home with other cats.

The sisters have evolved from scared abandoned kitties into confident, playful cuddly ones who love to play with their toys, chase each other, and climb and jump on the cat tree! They love treats and mealtime—their favorite meal is Fancy Feast kitten chicken wet food for breakfast and dinner with Purina Healthy Kitten Formula chicken (dry food) available to them during the day.

They’re waiting to meet you at Catnip Cat Cafe in Norfolk!

Why adoption is a great option

Maesley, a Virginia Beach Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Virginia Beach, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Virginia Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Virginia Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Virginia Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Virginia Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
