My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rosie
PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us.

What expressive ears. Meet Rosie! She’s a 4-5month old, approximately 20 lb shepherd/terrier mixed sweetest pup! We expect she may be abut 40 pounds when grown. She loves to give kisses and cuddles. It may take her a few minutes to warm up, but with treats and patience she easily overcomes her initial hesitation and will be your sidekick. Speaking of treats, Rosie is extremely food motivated and learns new skills quickly. Her forever family will need to continue to work on her training and socialization skills. Besides food, Rosie’s second love are toys. She’s never met a squeaker she didn’t like. She’ll entertain herself for hours throwing them in the air and catching them. Rosie also likes spending time outdoors. She’d love a fenced in yard to run zoomies in, but would also be fine getting her energy out on walks. Rosie is a typical puppy where after a good romp or play will crash and nap the afternoon away. Rosie is currently fostered with a cat and small dog and would be fine living with other furry friends with a proper introduction, but would also be ok being an only pet. Rosie is mostly housebroken and is learning to sit by the door when she has to go out. She’s crate trained and sleeps through the night. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application)

The adoption fee is $375, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. Puppies under 6 months of age may go to adoptive homes before they are spayed/neutered with a spay/neuter contract. Adopters who choose to adopt a puppy that has not yet been spayed/neutered are subject to an additional deposit of $100 (refundable upon proof of spay/neuter prior to the contracted date.) Included in the adoption fee, the rescue will arrange spay/neuter by a partner vet at a predetermined appointment when the puppy is between 4-6 months of age. It is the responsibility of the adopter to bring the adopted puppy back to the rescue vet for spaying/neutering or, if they choose, to send verification from their own vet (at the adopter's own cost) that the puppy had been spayed/neutered. All of our dogs will be microchipped.

Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org, then click on "Adopt" tab at top

We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment.
