My story

Parsons is a handsome Coonhound Mix who we estimate is between 2 and 3 years old. This poor sweet boy showed up at Sarge's unannounced one recent morning so we don't know his specific history. He certainly has shown a significant amount of fearfulness. That said, Parsons is quite affectionate once he gets past his initial instinct to run away. He has beautiful eyes that just scream 'love me' and he enjoys having his chin and ears pet. Furthermore, he seems to absolutely love other dogs so we think a home with a canine buddy might suit him best. Parsons's adoption fee is $50. If you'd like to meet him, please submit a dog adoption application at www.sarges.orgSeptember 27, 2022, 6:44 am

Additional adoption info

We do our best to match the animal with the most suitable home possible. Sometimes adopters choose an animal that has needs beyond what they will be able to provide, and we'll recommend a different pet more suited to their home. We check landlord requirements, if any, and we check vet references. We may request a home visit for animals with special needs.

Go meet their pets

Our Adoption Center is open Tuesday-Friday, 11 to 4 PM, Saturday 9 AM to 3 PM. The public is welcome to visit during those hours. We do attend offsite special events and take some of our adoptable dogs. These are usually publicized via social media, www.facebook.com/sarges.

More about this rescue

Sarge’s animals are usually taken directly from the Haywood County Animal Control facility. They are all tested for heart worm or Feline Leukemia/FIV, given appropriate vaccinations and preventatives for heart worms and fleas, spayed/neutered and dogs are microchipped. They are socialized as time permits and many have been taught basic commands. We enjoy placing animals into loving and responsible homes, and we appreciate that our adopters have sought out rescue animals.
