My story

Sammy....oh goodness! He is such a silly boy. But, he is only 1 year old...barely out of puppy stage. He has a rough coat and a full tail and a very playful personality. And, he is very affectionate. All his vet work is done including a microchip. We hope he will have a home with another playful dog in it. If your dog is elderly it won’t work. His owner needs to be able to move, move, move! Walks, runs, bikes, throwing toys, etc. Sammy also needs a securely fenced yard to run around in. No wrought iron, no short chain link. No electronic fencing.
We will do a home visit before placement. You must also have a good vet reference. He will probably like cats...but he will try to play with them. Sammy requires a home with no kiddos. And he will not do well in an apartment. No adopting out of state except to Oklahoma and Louisiana. He has to go somewhere where we have a network of volunteers. His adopter must be able to drive to the Houston, Texas area to adopt him. His adoption fee is $275. Why adoption is a great option

Sammy in Houston, a Houston Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Houston, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
