My story

ROSCO is a 5-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix who was having a little too much fun in his foster home and jammed his little tootsie. A few weeks into wearing his cool new leg armor and he's doing just fine!

We transfered this sweet boy over from our local shelter because he was overwhelmed and fearful in the kennel setting. As soon as he found a warm and loving foster family, his sweet spirit bloomed!🌷 Here is what his foster has to say...

"He absolutely loves it here! I feel like we are already bonded because he will shadow me around the house and cry when I'm in another room or out! We haven't heard him bark or growl once. He's just a cuddle bug and gives me so many face licks. My mom is also obsessed with him and they have so much fun together! He is doing so great and feeling the personal bond with him is so rewarding!"

Rosco may take a few minutes to warm up to new folks but VERY quickly becomes an absolute loverboy.🥰
One of his super powers is how well he does with other dogs!! We could always count on him to welcome new shelter pups because he never met one he didn't like and seemed full of warm hellos and play bows.

Rosco is not at the shelter to view but if you fill out an Adopter's Profile, we can set up an time for you to meet him!📋

Additional adoption info

In response to COVID-19, and the current social distancing rules, all of our animals are now being housed in foster homes and our adoption procedures have changed. Please read the following ADOPTION STEPS on our website for further details! **Please Note: Most of our adoptions are beginning with a foster-to-adopt period, and because of this, we are temporarily unable to consider applications from households outside the counties of: Santa Cruz, San Benito, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Monterey. If you rent, please have a copy of your lease or a letter from your landlord that states you can have a pet(s) ready. If you’re adopting a dog, introduce your future friend to any other dogs in the family (dog adoptions only).
