My story

We’d like you to meet our sweet, independent Lyra. She has already lived so much in her short life, taking care of her babies. She is 1-2 years of age. She made sure they survived until they were rescued. She is a curious girl and loves to be near the humans in the house. Once you figure out the correct way to hold her (like a baby of course!) she is okay with being held for a little while, but she prefers to sit near you while you pet her for endless amounts of time. She enjoys her freedom and wants to be able to explore and she will tell you all about it! Her independent personality shines through in her vocalizations as she will talk to you and let you know what she thinks about just about everything! We have not tested her around dogs, and while she does great with her own kittens, we feel that she would do best integrating into a home with no other cats.

If you are interested in meeting Lyra, please fill out an application via our website at and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at This will get you the fastest response.

Lyra's adoption fee is $75 and includes age appropriate vaccines, spay, microchip, and testing for feline leukemia.

All cats adopted from The Rescue Project are intended to be indoor only cats.
