My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucy is a 4 year old adult female Dogo Argentino currently being fostered in Arizona.

Lucy is about the sweetest female Dogo you will ever, ever find. Truly. She LOVES people! In fact, she will wiggle her whole body and cover you with kisses and snuggle with you. She will do best as an only dog in the home and will love her family unconditionally. She may look Dogo but she has the heart of a Labrador Retriever (for people). Lucy was recently spayed and is recovering in her foster home where she is showered with love, toys, and a big backyard where she takes her morning sun tans! She is doing fantastic on the leash and had a previous foster who was an incredible instructor. She taught Lucy how to feel safe when around other dogs and she has made excellent progress! Although Lucy has played well with other Dogos SUPERVISED, Lucy has gone through a few behavioral lessons and will continue to need supervision and instruction. Lucy will do well in any home where she is the only dog. She simply deserves a wonderful home where she'll never have to fight for attention again!

Lucy would thrive in a home where she will be the sunshine of your life and the center of your world! She would love an active lifestyle but honestly would be happy as can be just to be by your side. She would much rather be with her people than playing out in a backyard alone. She is such a fantastic girl, she will make anyone happy!! If you think she's melted your heart and might be the Dogo you are looking for, please fill out an adoption application or feel free to reach out to the rescue with any questions you may have. Transport can be arranged for the right home.

Dogos are a wonderful breed but we urge anyone interested to dig in and do a lot of research before
deciding if they are a good fit for your home. They require a lot of attention and training with them
never ends! Boundaries must be enforced and they often need reminders as they push past boundaires
you set! Dogos are loving, kind and gentle but don't mistake that for weakness because they are equally
powerful and intense as well! Everyone in the home must be on board with having a dogo and play a
major role in their daily routines and training. Yes it is work, but the rewards are ten-fold! Lazy homes
don't work for dogos as they need stimulation, exercise, and lots of attention too during their younger
years. Our goal in rescue is to be as transparent as we can about each and every dog plus make sure new
families really understand the needs of a dogo!
