Lucy is one of 4 remaining puppies from Vixen's litter. She was born October 31 2009 and is about 4 months old at the time of this writing, early March. Lucy has a black Labrador Retriever look with just a tad longer coat. She will probably mature to about 50 lbs. Lucy is a bit of a firecracker and she loves body-checking her cat-sisters - she would be well-suited to an active family with perhaps other dogs, but probably not cats. :). All puppies in this litter showed an early tendency to retrieve and all have been well socialized with other animals, people, and situations. They are all doing well with the crate, leash, car rides etc although most of their placed siblings went through setbacks upon adoption, mainly with crate training. Lucy's littermates Celina and Forrest have a video clip on facebook that shows how amazing they\'re doing in training and how well rewards-based touch-free training works, even on young puppies.
All puppies from this litter are being placed on foster contracts until time of spay/neuter (starting May). This is being done at our vet at our expense as per our mission statement. We\'re asking for a slightly increased fee of $400 for these pups due to the additional costs of multiple vaccines, whelping supplies etc. These pups have all been exposed to other dogs, some have been exposed to cats, and they\'ve been exposed to children, supervised. We are seeking homes that can accomodate not leaving them home alone for a full workday until they are about 8-9 months old, in June, and homes with older kids or no kids, as small kids and puppies can be a very bad match.
