Tinker von Tessin is a beautiful, 5-6 year-old Shepherd mix. This lovely girl with the bright eyes and rusty coat is a fun walking partner. She sticks close to you. If you give her a little slack, she enjoys the opportunity to explore. Tinker is very curious and will keep an eye on whatever is ahead. She has a calm demeanor. It can take her a little bit to approach new people but, once she gets the sense of a friendly person, she does all she can to get their attention. Tinker knows the sit command, enjoys treats, and may be housebroken. She prefers the company of dogs with a similar mellow vibe. She is no longer a dizzy puppy, so in play groups she gives pushy and hyper dogs their space and appreciates it when they do the same. Tinker would be a good fit in a home looking to skip the puppy stage and ready to guide her straight into her bestest girl stage. She just asks for her future home to have no cats. So if Tinker sounds like the one for you, fill out the application linked below to meet her.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Tinker von Tessin YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org
Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

In order to adopt any dog from Westside German Shepherd Rescue, one must fill out an adoption application first. Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip and up to date vaccinations.
