My story

My name is Bartok! I am a Malamute mix with the biggest bark in the whole shelter. Don't let that deter you though, because once you're in my inner circle, you're there for life. Like anyone, I can sometimes be wary of strangers, but the fastest way into my heart is through my stomach! I LOVE treats! My ideal family would be one that's willing to put in the work to get into my inner circle, and one who can benefit from a protector. I am the best guard dog here at the shelter, and will protect you for life. If you're interested in meeting me, call the shelter and ask for Bartok!

More about this shelter

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society (SGVHS) was founded by Fannie Thompson Kessler in 1924.

For almost 100 years, the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society has provided a variety of services to the local communities. Currently we serve the cities of San Gabriel, Temple City and Duarte.

We provide food, shelter and medical care to hundreds of dogs and cats who are stray and homeless, or have been rescued from abusive conditions or relinquished by their owners.

Please consider giving one of our animals a forever home. If you’re looking to adopt a life-long furry companion, we invite you to visit our Shelter!
