Meet Zuca! The biggest couch potato around! He is a 6 year old podenco mix that was found stranded in the woods before being rescued by Bring Portuguese Podengos to Light. Since arriving at Fast Friends he has acquired the loving nickname of "Zucchini". He is a calm, loving dog that enjoys a good nap but also loves to play. When Zuca is in a playful mood he runs as fast as he can, then proceeds to flop on the ground and patiently wait for his belly rubs. Zuca can be quite shy around new people, but once he gets to know them he is the sweetest boy. Overall he has good leash manners and enjoys going on leisurely stalls with the occasional break for pets. He is a little leash reactive toward unfamiliar dogs and will bark at them when he is feeling overwhelmed. Zuca does good with other dogs but can be a little picky about making friends and requires a slow introduction. He would thrive in a low to moderately active home. If you are looking for a cuddle buddy that also likes to play, Zuca may be the right fit for you.
* Fast Friends adopts in the New England area. If you are interested in Zuca or one of our other available dogs, please complete an adoption application at www.helpinggreyhounds.org/adopt

Fast Friends is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to educating the public about Greyhounds and sighthounds from around the world with the primary goal of finding responsible, loving homes for them. Fast Friends envisions a world where no Greyhound or sighthound lacks for a loving home and these breeds are valued and celebrated for their uniqueness.
Fast Friends works closely with both international and domestic partners to bring retired racing Greyhounds and other sighthounds in need from countries where they have almost no chance of a local adoption to its facility in Swanzey, New Hampshire. Each dog receives high quality care with a focus on one-on-one staff time and individualized plans to help them overcome any neglect or trauma they have experienced so that they can be successful in a home. We are dedicated to taking in dogs with the most challenging circumstances.
