My story

A SWEET LITTLE CUTIE:  10 years old / 9 lbs.

Hello there!  My name is Woodford!  I was rescued from animal control by Mostly Mutts, and they are helping me find my new family, for which I am most grateful!  I am heartworm positive and will be treated for that soon thanks to a grant from the Grey Muzzle Grant Organization!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, but I don’t seem to like the dogs I have met in my foster home, especially the bigger ones.  I came in with some other little dog friends and seemed to get along with them, so let’s meet if you have a nice small dog already. / Cats unknown / I also haven’t met kids yet, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet little guy who has been friendly with the people I’ve met.  I’ll bark just a little when I meet new people, but then I just want them to pet me.  My foster mom says I’m a “sweetheart.” I’m all about being with people, cuddling or in their laps or being petted and napping. I’m affectionate and hope to be someone’s loving companion soon.  I’m not an overly barky little dog, but when I’m excited, I bark a little bit. My cute ‘underbite’ smile is sure to make you smile and warm your heart.  It’s adorable!  / My energy level is 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  My foster discovered that I know the sit command if you say the word and lower your finger at the same time. / My crate manners were good at Mostly Mutts and I’m doing pretty well in my foster home now after a little initial whining. Please have a nice dog bed in it for me. / My potty habits were good on the shelter schedule, and I’m doing pretty well in my foster home, though when I get excited, sometimes I tinkle just a little bit.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love the good care I’m receiving from my foster family as well as cuddling, napping and being petted and I’m sure I’ll love it in my new home too. / I’m not a big player and I don’t love being alone a lot, so a stay or work from home family member would be wonderful if possible. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  Unfortunately, my previous owner did not keep me on a monthly heartworm preventative, so I am heartworm positive. I have been treated for it thanks to a grant from the Grey Muzzle Organization! I am in my recovery period now, which will conclude mid-October.  I am still available for adoption during this time, but local adoption only, please.

I am looking for a great home where I will be a much-loved family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Who We Are: Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers! Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
