My story

Fjerda!     DOB: 6/2016     Weight: 60lbs

Meet Fjerda! He’s is a very sweet boy. He came to us after someone caught him wandering. Fjerda had a microchip, but all the information was outdated and led to dead ends. The only information we got from it was his age and that at some point he lived in San Antonio, Texas. He is believed to be a Kelpie mix. Kelpie’s are an intelligent breed too. Fjerda walks well on a leash and is quiet when he’s out and about. He has been on walks and met young kids (around 5yrs) and did fine with them. He has some super soft/thick hair! No food or toy aggression. He really wasn’t even interested in playing/eating much. That might change with time. He knows how to sit and takes treats nicely. Likes to sniff everything! Good with other dogs! Did fine around the cat we introduced him too, but definitely seems like the type to chase them if they run. He went on a nice car ride and chilled on the seat the whole time  He was also a perfect boy for his bath!

Fjerda does have heartworms. He will be starting treatment 7/2022. Treatment typically lasts for 6 months. We cover ALL costs of treatment. All you have to do is love him, keep his energy lower, and give him meds in his food.

His adoption fee is $175. That covers worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a two week trial in which you can borrow items. If interested in adopting him please fill out an application on our website. pcpoundpuppies.com. Came to the shelter 6/2022.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process consists of an adoption application followed by an interview. Upon arriving at the shelter, each dog receives a Bordetella shot, DHPPC vaccination and worming. At the veterinarian's office, our dogs receive a rabies vaccination, a spay or neuter surgery, and are tested for heartworm. If a dog tests positive, we treat the dog and then retest to confirm that the treatment was successful. Additionally, our dogs are microchipped before going home with their new family. Adoption fees are $85 and help to cover the cost of vetting.
