My story

Masapequa, Long Island - SOPHIA is losing her home! Her dad passed away and now she’s living with his mom who cannot keep her. This eight year old 70 lb sweetie pie does not deserve to go to the shelter! Please consider fostering or adopting this baby. Sophia likes other dogs loves people, good with kids 12 and up, and is very well mannered. She is fully vetted, and transport is available. For more information please contact AmsterDog at 917-689-8414. And thanks for caring about a pet in need!

Why adoption is a great option

SOPHIA, a New York Mixed Breed (Large) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mixed Breed (Large) for sale in New York, or seeking a Mixed Breed (Large) dog from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mixed Breed (Large) breeders who help with Mixed Breed (Large) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
