My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lulu is a big, sweet, cuddly, brown Tabby female who loves to be petted and for you to talk to her! Biscuits and purrs are your reward. Adorable Lulu has a low activity level and since being confined at the shelter seems to have added a little girth. Please don't point that out to her because it causes her stress. She wants to be your one and only pet because other pets just aren't necessary (her words) AND they simply stress her out which led to her cystitis in the first place (also her words). She is better now that she is on a prescription diet and promises that she is fine as an only pet. And if you would please provide her with more than one litter box, she doesn't have to worry about things. Lulu needs a calm home with adults and teens only. Lulu gets stress induced cystitis and had some litter box issues in the past. She has had no litter box problems at the shelter, but will need to continue with her prescription diet. Do you have room for a low activity girl who just wants attention and to be the queen? (CC 2-26-2024)(UPDATED MD 05-12-24)

More about this shelter

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
