My story

Astra is a 35 pound 4-5 yr old lab mix. She has been in the shelter since October.. Its her turn for a new life.. She is good with other dogs, keeps a clean kennel. Does okay on lead. Spayed ,vaccinations utd. She is heartworm positive, has been on doxycycline pre treament and started on ivermectin for slow kill. We will be happy to treat her here in Florida, rescue will pay for treatment.

She is good with other dogs, but she does not like overly friendly silly dogs in her face. Kind, respectful and not over the top dogs will be best with her. male or female.

We are in need of a foster thru heartworm treatment or a foster to adopt that will take her thru treatment. You must be willing and able to take her off transport at one of three locations: Wesley Chapel, Oveido or Wildwood. Heartworm treatment requires some crate rest low level activity, leash walks.  It is not rocket science. And a good time to train, bond and establish your relationship with your new pup. If interested please fill out an app at ewenityfarmsbch.com.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application. When that is approved we can arrange for the prospective adopter to meet the dog they are interested in. We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We conduct home visits. There is an adoption fee that is usually around $250 per dog to cover any expenses we have incurred. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.

Go meet their pets

Since all rescue dogs live in our homes with us or in foster homes, you will need to travel to meet any dog you might want to adopt. You will need to contact Ewenity Farms HDH to make arrangements to meet the rescue dog.

More about this rescue

We are a small rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one on one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are a highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary. It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
