My story

Meet Huey! He was found with several other small dogs abandoned in a rural area of Arkansas. Huey is a sweet, playful dog who enjoys being loved on. He is a generally calm dog but does enjoy running around outside & barking at squirrels. He loves chew toys too. Huey does get along well with other dogs but sometimes can be a little bossy. Huey has an old injury (gunshot wound) to his right front leg that healed incorrectly due to his abandonment. His veteranarian says that it causes him no pain so there's no need to amputate. Huey doesn't use the leg when getting around, but he does balance himself with it when sitting and drinking. Huey also has old gunshot wounds to his ribcage & multiple healed ribs. All of these injuries were due to trauma inflicted on him in his past. They healed without veterinary care unfortunately. He is crate-trained & house-trained. Huey does not like cats & can be a little timid with new people & places. He does warm up pretty fast though. Huey is a funny little character. He would do good with older, calm children.

Huey is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, & heartworm negative. His adoption fee for Norther adopters is $500. This includes transport to RI & a health certificate from his vet. His local adoption fee is $175.

NOTE: We are not registered in Massachusetts & cannot adopt to residents of MA.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We accept applications on the desired pet, then conduct a thorough screening process that includes talking to your vet and three personal references. Once the application has been approved, then the dog is fully vetted, and registered with the State of Arkansas with a health certificate prior to boarding any transport. We do vaccinate and spay/neuter our animals age appropriately. Please check our website at for complete information about our adoption process.
