My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Willow is an amazing girl that was found by a volunteer on the side of the road in the mud one morning. Her life changed that day when she became an SCF dog. Here is more about her.

  • about 6ish years old
  • currently being treated for heartworms
  • attends doggie day care but does keep to herself so her forever home would either be as a solo dog or another VERY laid back dog.
  • She is crate trained but she hates it. It is not comfortable for her. She is not destructive and could be left out in time while not home.
  • Willow is comfortable with kids 10 and older
  • No storm / firework issues or anxiety
  • cats? eh - no thanks.
  • loves toys and is very sweet and affectionate
  • rides well in a car
  • House broken / UTD / Spayed / Microchipped

More about this rescue

Second Chance” is not a second chance for dogs, because that would presume they had a first chance and failed. The majority of the dogs we rescue never had any chances, first, second, or otherwise. The name of our rescue refers to giving humans a second chance to provide a safe, healthy, and loving home and environment for our dogs, since most of these dogs come to us after they have been abused or neglected by their owners. SCF solely relies on volunteers to get the work done and no one receives compensation for their work. SCF receives no funding from the government or the United Way. Our adoption fees and donations from other dog lovers cover our costs.
