My story

DOB: 11/24/15

Pin is a territorial cat who ruled Rose Lane Farms and the neighboring lumber yard for the past three years. He’d greet visitors and welcome everyone except the occasional gopher or mouse. Protecting his turf led to a major injury and the realization he needed a better life. Now, fully recovered, he’s living with Farmer Lynne while looking for a home where he can rule and be loved. He is a very sweet soul and deserves a forever home as an “only” pet. And he needs to definitely be indoors because of his FIV+. FIV+ cats can live a long healthy life, Pin is a perfect example. He has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV is not a big deal; given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat, requiring direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissable to humans. We ONLY adopt animals to homes in the greater Los Angeles area.
Our cat adoption questionnaire https://kittenrescue.org/adopt/cat-adoption-form/ is first step of our adoption process, which also includes a home visit, the signing of an adoption contract, and payment of our adoption fee.
Adoption Fees
$120 for a kitten or cat up to 2 years old, or $200 if you adopt a pair.
Cats 2 to 10 years old have a fee reduction of 50%
We will waive the adoption fee for any cat over 10 years old.
Our dog adoption fee is $200.

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 1,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
