My story

Moxie!     DOB: 2/2021    Weight: 60lbs

Moxie has finished her heart worm treatment! Now she just needs a home of her own! I promise you, you don’t want to miss out on having this sweet girl as your own. She’s literally perfect, an absolute doll. Moxie has been in foster for awhile now, so she is used to the spoiled house life. She’s completely house and crate trained. Although, she really doesn’t need to be crated. She does fine having free roam of the house with the other dogs when I’m gone. She enjoys wandering the fenced back yard and going on leisurely walks. Once she gets to know a place, she doesn’t usually wander too far if she gets loose. She’s gotten out of the front door a few times and takes some time to run around like a maniac, then she comes back to the door. Moxie has no food or toy aggression at all. Will sit when asked and takes food nicely. Watermelon and popcorn seem to be her favorite. Loves chewing on her hard toys. Recently went out on a trip and got some pupcups. She was loving that too! Moxie does well for baths and car rides, although she will drool all over the car…. She is good with cats, small/large dogs, kids, and people in general. Would love to sleep in your bed with you at night and likes kisses on her head. She’ll always let you know when someone is at the door, but if it comes to protecting the home, she’ll probably leave you to fend for yourself . And it doesn’t matter how long you’re gone during the day, she’ll greet you each time like you’ve been gone a century. Moxie has so much love to give and I know that she’ll make a wonderful companion for someone. She’s a young, 60lbs Anatolian Shepherd/Boxer/Pit mix.

She does need to live with another dog. She loves having the company. A family or person that can give her some walks through the week and plenty of cuddles is preferred. I’m gone 8 hours a day Mon-Fri and that works well for her. She’s never in the kennel anymore either. Moxie does have some allergies. She’ll need a daily medication for it. That costs $60 a month. I also give her salmon oil daily. It’s not required, but does wonders for a dogs coat and skin health. That’s only $10 a month.

Her adoption fee is $175. That covers worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a two week trial in which you can borrow items. If interested in adopting her please fill out an application on our website. pcpoundpuppies.com. Came to the shelter 4/2022.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process consists of an adoption application followed by an interview. Upon arriving at the shelter, each dog receives a Bordetella shot, DHPPC vaccination and worming. At the veterinarian's office, our dogs receive a rabies vaccination, a spay or neuter surgery, and are tested for heartworm. If a dog tests positive, we treat the dog and then retest to confirm that the treatment was successful. Additionally, our dogs are microchipped before going home with their new family. Adoption fees are $85 and help to cover the cost of vetting.
