Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bootsie is a very sweet but understandably shy pup. His person called us and said that they were just going to leave him outside in a crate because they did not want him anymore. When we saw him, we realized they did exactly that! Boots was left outside of their home in 90F heat with his mouth muzzled shut. We understand why he is so traumatized! Boots so far though has run into no issues with the other animals here (though his exposure has been limited to other small dogs) and he has so far been good about going outside for potty breaks. With any dog though – you should always expect to put in some effort with potty training as adjusting to a new environment isn’t usually easy and they will need to learn your routine. We think that Boots will flourish in the home of a dedicated and loving guardian. He needs training, guidance, love, patience and attention. We can test Bootsie with cats for a serious adopter.
