My story

Ed is a sweet, loving, laidback dog who loves to be with his people or to play with his canine friends.  Ed came to the REACH Rescue program after he was found in a graveyard, surviving as a stray with a few of his canine friends.  Ed's hair is sparse from the malnutrition he suffered.  His hair may never fully grow back in, but that doesn't stop him from living his best life.  When he first arrived, Ed was petrified of everything he encountered, but he has really blossomed since joining his foster home and is learning to love all the luxuries life has to offer.  Ed loves hot dogs, curling up in a comfortable dog bed, and relaxing outside under his favorite tree.   Now that he has gotten to know the people in his foster home, he's become a big fan of scratches and cuddles, too!

Ed is searching for a forever home with other dogs to help him feel comfortable and confident, as well as patient, loving people who can help him continue to adjust to these new circumstances.  He enjoys spending time outside and hopes for a home with a fenced yard where he can have the freedom to run when he gets the Zoomies!  Adopting Ed will be an extraordinary chance to see a rescue dog come to life under your patient, loving guidance.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

If a particular pooch has caught your eye or if you’re searching for a new furry family member, take a few minutes to complete our online adoption application or stop by our Adoption Events to visit with our adoptable pups. Our application review team will contact you as they process your application and check with your references. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received, but our primary responsibility is to find the best home for each individual dog and the best match for you and your family regardless of application order. We want to see that every animal and family are well-suited as a forever match. Our adoption fees vary by the animal’s age and specific breed. All adopted dogs will receive vaccinations against distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus, as well as flea/tick treatments and de-worming. Dogs who are too young to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated against rabies will receive vouchers to one of our local veterinary partners. Please contact us with any additional questions! We are available by phone at 847-566-6799, through our website, or through direct messaging on Facebook. We’re happy to answer any questions and work with you as you search for your new family member!
