Some facts about adorable Larry:
He is extremely sweet and loves to snuggle. He typically sleeps at the foot of our bed or on the floor right by the bed.
He has spent a lot of time with children and other dogs. Our next-door neighbors have 4 kids who are frequently at our house. While he is very sweet, he may be too much for small children because he is big and clumsy. We haven't had an incident, but he has the potential to knock a child over on accident.
He is very smart and will be a great dog even with minimal training.
He knows basic commands, sit, stay, down, come. He responds to his name (the one we've been calling him at least). he learned "shake" in about 5 minutes, so either he had previous training or he is very smart |
He has a lot of energy, as he is still very puppy in many ways. A home with a fenced-in yard would be ideal. Even a home where someone is a runner/jogger. We take him on long walks almost every day, which doesn't always wear him out. Larry would probably benefit from a yard and active household.
He is crate trained (will go to the crate when given verbal command). He sometimes cries when they leave the house or leave the room when he is in the crate. He probably wants to be with his peeps.
When he is alone with his family, he is generally calm and quiet, but he does match the energy of other animals he is with.
He can be a bit shy/nervous when meeting some new people. But as he gets older and is exposed to more, we feel sure he will be more confident. Larry has not had a great life in the beginning, but he holds no ill will. He is true joy and happiness.
