Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Say hello to Dolly, an active 55 lb. 1½ year old beauty. Dolly is a stray from the overcrowded Merced shelter looking for a place to belong and call home. Like her namesake, Dolly has a beautiful multicolored coat that has minimal shedding.
Dolly loves attention and hangs close to her foster dad. It takes her a little time to warm up to strangers, however once trust is gained, she is playful and affectionate. Her recall off leash is excellent. She would make a great running or hiking companion. Dolly loves other dogs, playing until she drops with the resident dog in her foster home. Dolly’s house manners are excellent. She uses a dog door and knows her basic commands (come, sit, stay, etc…). She will need someone willing to work with her to advance her training, but she is willing to please and learns quickly. Dolly walks well on leash, sleeps quietly in her crate at night (although her preferred location would be on her foster parents’ bed) and rides well in the car. She has a very soft mouth and takes her treats gently. Dolly would probably do well with children, but has not been tested. She loves her toys, especially a kong and antler. She displayed no desire to interact with the cats at the shelter and does not chase the cottontail bunnies in the yard.
The adoption fee is $350. All Lucky Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, treated to make sure they are flea free, are current on vaccines, and dewormed. A home inspection is required prior to adoption. If you would like more information, email Dolly’s foster parents, Steve and Sue, at dogs@s2springer.com. If you decide to e-mail, please tell us a bit about the home that you would provide for her.
