My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wow, what a beautiful guy! Apollo is super handsome and very smart. He was rescued from a local shelter and is currently receiving obedience training.  As you can see in his pics, Apollo likes bootie scratches, is very affectionate and gives kisses. Strong minded and smart, he would do best in a calm, adult household with someone who can give him a little structure and participate in his training, both in the home and at the training facility.  He's ready for foster-to-adopt or adoption while he completes the training program!

Apollo is a buddy who loves to go for hikes or just hang out, snuggling up and leaning into you!  Affectionate, educated, handsome, smart--he's got it all!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Complete the Adoption Application which you can find at http://tailsofthecityrescue.com/?page_id=20 and please fill it out completely. We know our dogs and their personalities well. The more information we have about your situation, the easier it will be for us to see if the dog you are interested in is a good match for you.
2. Meet the dog you are interested in at our Adoption Event. Bring your family and your other dogs, if you have them, so we can evaluate their interaction.
3. Once your application is accepted and all parties agree to proceed with the adoption, we will make a Home Visit. A home visit by one of our experienced board members ensures that you are able to provide a safe environment for your newly adopted pet.
4. A Signed Agreement is the next step of the process. Your application becomes part of the agreement by reference.
5. Your Tax-Deductible Donation. This is the final step of the adoption process. We ask for a suggested minimum donation of $300.00. We operate solely on individual donations. We receive no government funding or corporate sponsorship. The amount we suggest does not even begin to cover the cost of rescuing and placing one animal. If you can donate more we would be most grateful, as it may help save one more adorable face at the shelter that we would have had to otherwise leave behind. Feel empowered by your donation, because we cannot continue our work without your help!
