My story

Meet Busta Rhymes!

Busta is a 1-2 year old mixed breed pup, who weighs about 35 lbs. He's a really great dog, who will fit in just about anywhere! He is fairly energetic and would do well with daily walks. He loves to play with other dogs and would be great with kids, but we have not cat tested him. He's a little vocal when he plays, so a new owner will need to be prepared for that!

Busta did very well in our prison program. He learned his basics and is even mastered his recall. He loves to go on walks and does well on a leash. He's also housebroken and crate trained, but will need to continue with his crating in an adoptive home. He will NOT do well in a home that doesn't crate him - this is non-negotiable!

This happy guy has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and is heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $350 and includes a one hour training session with a professional in the Columbus, Cincinnati, and Dayton areas (must be used within 90 days of adoption).

If you are interested in making Busta a part of your family, please submit an application on our website, www.prodogsohio.org/adoptables. He's currently in DeGraff, OH.

Go meet their pets

We have monthly events at local pet stores in Columbus and Dayton, and can arrange private meet-and-greets with individual fosters, as needed. Please submit an application to adopt in order to be contacted by one of our adoption coordinators, if you would like to meet one of our dogs.

More about this rescue

Purebred Rescue Organization of Ohio has been rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming companion animals for over twenty years. What started as a small foster-based rescue in Dayton, focused on purebred puppy mill releases and owner surrenders, has grown into a multi-city effort, and now includes the PUPP Prison Dog Training Program and partnerships with shelters across the State of Ohio to help save hundreds of dogs each year. Contrary to our name, we rescue dogs of all breeds, mixes, shapes, and sizes! We provide standard vetting for them while they are in our care - all of our dogs are fixed, heartworm tested, vaccinated, and microchipped before they are placed in adoptive homes.
