My story

Gemini is one of the two smaller pups in the litter. She looks almost exactly like her brother Virgo and has a very similar temperament. Her flat coat is a mix of white, brown, tan, and gray. She's always happy to greet you and extra sweet and gentle. She's patient and tolerant. She wags her tail and takes treats ever so softly.

Gemini has been very fearful taking walks outside of the shelter gate. But exposure is helping her get past what frightens her. A slow, patient approach will open up a whole new world for this pup, and she's beginning to explore and enjoy her walks. Slow and steady is the way to go with Gemini, letting her take her time.

You'll love looking into her soulful, loving eyes. Gemini will do best with a single person or a family with gentle, respectful children at least 10 years old since she will grow to be a larger dog. .

Gemini wants a fenced yard to be able to run.

After a DNA test, we were surprised to learn test that Gemini and her siblings are 50% Great Pyrenees, 14.3% Bluetick Coonhound,13.7% Chow Chow, 11.7% Labrador Retreiver and 10.3% German Shepherd.

She is spayed, up to date on shots, micro-chipped, heart warm negative and ready to go home!

More about this rescue

Save The Animals Rescue Team II (S.T.A.R.T. II), started in 1989, is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 status organization dedicated to alleviating the plight of homeless and abandoned companion animals. Twice a week we visit a local pound and take as many adoptable animals as we can. These animals are provided veterinary care, clean living conditions, exercise and socialization. We work with potential adopters to find that perfect match… them a "fur"- ever home for life. In addition, we educate the public on the importance of spaying/neutering as well as offering low cost options, vaccinations, preventive medications, and proper living conditions for their new and existing pets. This lifesaving work is critical for many of these unfortunate animals, since their only crime was to be born unwanted. Since our inception, we have rescued and placed over 7,000 dogs and cats.
