My story

Meet Bailey! This sweet senior girl was found wondering as a stray on the streets of Dallas with her brother. The duo was found by a good samaritan who brought them into Animal Control to give them their best chance. Unfortunately, that shelter turned out to be a high kill shelter and, although Bailey's brother was quickly adopted from there, this sweet girl was placed on the euth list due to age and her medical conditions. When her hero found out, she asked us to help and get her here - we could not say no. On her freedom drive here, Bailey began struggling to breathe so she was rushed to the vet where they found she had a 105 temp and a host of other things - tracheal collapse, possible fluid in her belly, and possible lung metastasis. They stabilized her enough to finish her journey to Kansas and now she has been settling in to her new foster home. She has more vet appointments and tests to be ran, but ultimately we know time is of the essence with this sweet girl. She doesn't have long left, no matter how much love we pour on her. Please consider being her Furever hospice home and loving her for ever precious minute you are able to.

More about this rescue

The mission of Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary is to provide our senior furry friends a home in a loving, healthy living room setting. Here they can comfortably live out their lives, be they measured in weeks, months or years. We will help any animal that is last left on the euthanasia list - no matter how sick or old they are. We strive to appreciate every day with these animals as if its our last and make sure their time waiting for a furever home is just as loved as if they were already home.
